Global Hockey Open House/Draft Day
Saturday August 28th 2010

This will be a Mandatory evaluation for all players in the league to rank players and properly place them on teams to make the teams as balanced as possible. The cookout is from 10:30am - 4:00pm with free food for players.

  • Squirts 01’s/00’s 10:00-11:00am
  • Peewee 99’s 11:10-12:10pm
  • Peewee 98’s 12:20-1:20pm
  • Bantam 97’s 1:30-2:30pm
  • Bantam 96’s 2:40-3:40pm

There will be a brief informational meeting during each skate for parents to meet new Hockey Director Brian Yandle. Global Hockey Coaches will be choosing teams the day of the draft. Teams will be posted online by Tuesday 8/31/10. League starts Tuesday September 7th.

  • Any player who cannot attend please contact brian@globalhockey.org
  • Global Hockey will evaluate teams after week five of the season to make sure that all teams are competitive.
  • Teams that are picked after this weekend will not be set for the entire season for the competiveness of the league
  • The league schedule for practices and games will be posted online by mid August for the entire season
 
Saturday Morning Walk-On Skills

Global Hockey will be having Saturday morning "Walk on Skills" sessions starting July 10th-August 28th. Cost will be $20 per session, the Walk on Skills sessions will take place Saturday's from 8:00-9:50am at the Bavis Arena in Rockland MA. These sessions are open to all age groups. We do ask that players have at least two years of hockey experience. Global Hockey Director Brian Yandle will be hosting these sessions along with other Global Hockey staff members. Instructors will focus on skating, edges, passing, stick handling, shooting, etc. Players and Goaltenders will receive proper instruction by the highly experienced Global Hockey staff. No Pre-registration required, just show up on Saturday's ready to improve your skills!

 
The Mass Sports Club announces new Director of Hockey Operations for Global Hockey and the Boston Little Rangers

Former two time All American defenseman at The University of New Hampshire Brian Yandle will take over as General Manager of the Mark Bavis Arena and Director of Hockey Operations for Global Hockey. Brian will take over the day to day operations of Matt Smith. Matt will still be involved in the program but in a smaller capacity.
Yandle a Native of Milton grew up playing youth hockey on the 1983 South Shore Kings. He and defensive partner and Edmonton Oilers star Ryan Whitney teamed up to win the 1996 Peewee World Championship in Quebec City. He then played two years at Catholic Memorial for coaches Bill Hanson and Kevin O’Sullivan winning to Super 8 titles (1998, 1999).
