 The
coaching staff of Global Hockey is the most highly experienced staff
in the Northeast (For a list of instructors please click
here) All of our instructors have coached and/or played at the
NHL, NCAA, USHL, or Elite High School Level. When attending a Global
Hockey Camp, you can be assured that you are getting the coaches who
are promised. Coaches who do not participate in our camps are not
listed on our brochures. Our coaches are experienced at teaching hockey
skills to all levels of players and have developed a systematic, progressive,
weekly curriculum to insure measurable improvement for each player.
Additionally, Global Hockey staff firmly believes that to best develop
each player’s potential, the proper techniques of on ice skills
direction must be supplemented by a systematic off ice training and
conditioning program suited to the age, level and other individual
aspects of each player. New this season is the “Global Hockey
Skills Zone” featuring a 12,000 square foot facility complete
with free weights, slide board, shooting pits, stickhandling zone,
parachutes, sleds, Russian boxes and much more.
At full day camps the players will participate in two on ice instruction
sessions complemented by 2-3 hours of off ice training each day
in this newly opened Global Hockey Skills Zone. A skills competition
will culminate the week.
At Mini Camps the players will participate in one 2-2 ½
hour on ice session in addition to 1 hour of off ice training in
the Global Hockey Skills Zone.
Global Hockey will offer an array of camps covering all aspects
of hockey. Each camp features a theme with specific skills worked
on during that week.
All Camps offer extended day either as early drop off or late dismissal
(one hour max) for an additional weekly fee of $75.00. The extended
day must be arranged at least one week prior to the onset of camp.
Each camper must submit completed camp forms for
any camp that he/she is attending with the exception of the Elite
Skills and Conditioning Camp. All camp forms can be downloaded from
the website. |

Although Global Hockey emphasizes skill development at all times,
in order to be a complete hockey player, skills must be transferred
into all aspects of the game. This camp will teach each player proper
positioning for defensive zone breakouts, defensemen gap control,
2-1-2 forecheck as well as 1-2-2 forecheck, proper defensive zone
coverage and neutral zone forechecking. Furthermore, there are thousands
of battles over the course of a hockey game, and this camp safely
teaches each player how to win those battles. Ace checkmate dummies
will be utilized in order to teach each player proper checking techniques.
Players will also be instructed on how to take a hit to avoid injury.
