Global Hockey's Cross Ice / Learn to Play Hockey at Rockland's Bavis Arena »

Ages: 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 Birthyears

FREE Cross Ice / Learn to Play Session March 17th at 1:20pm!

The Global Hockey Cross Ice program is designed to accommodate the Mini-Mite level with little or no ice hockey playing experience by modifying their playing environment and allowing coaches to more effectively teach them the game of hockey. The Global Hockey cross ice program is based on a model of practicing and playing hockey across the ice surface as compared to practicing and playing lengthwise.

This cross-ice practicing and playing model has been used in many of the leading hockey nations in the world for a number of years and has stood the test of time. It has been shown that children who begin their hockey training in this environment have an outstanding hockey experience.

The objective of this program is to allow kids to build a foundation of fundamental hockey skills. Players will rotate through stations that focus on their skill development and then play a cross ice game at the end of class each week.

All players must wear full gear and bring a hockey stick! New Participants receive a hockey jersey!

Brian Yandle, Hockey Director of Global Hockey will be the Lead Instructor along with the highly skilled members of the Global coaching Staff at these weekly sessions.
