97 RANGERS
WIN 2ND GAME VS TEAM DYNAMIC |
| 1
| 19 | 10 |
After years of domination by our 97s,
the Bandits had won both games this year. With the two
team separated by only 1 point in the standings this
was a must win for the Rangers. It was a physical game
- may also have been one of the sloppiest games of the
year but the 97 Rangers led wire to wire shutting out
the Bandits. Deegan and Maier were outstanding in net
- they had to be to kill off 12 Ranger penalties. Maybe
the only bright spot was the Ranger penalty kill which
was emphasized just in time in Thursdays full ice practice.
Donato led the way offensively rotating through the
lines at center working well with the Lewis/Lyne and
Power/Leahy wings. Marshall, McKenzie and Powers chipped
in with single goals. All 6 defensemen played well out
front and on the penalty kill. The win mean the 97 Rangers
have sole possession of fourth place with the first
place Terriers squarely in their sites this coming weekend.
Final Score 4-0 |

97 RANGERS
WIN 2ND GAME VS TEAM DYNAMIC |
| 1
| 10 | 10 |
The rematch saw Team Dynamic come out
much more physical than the day before and the Rangers
didn't get that dominant period in a very good back
and forth hockey game where Kal Maier played half a
game of shutout hockey to seal the win. Cullen Lyne
started the scoring in the second period from Connor
Lewis on the power play midway through the second. Just
over a minute later Jack Donato took a nice feed from
Curtis Golden to put the Rangers up 2-0. Team Dynamic
ended the second with a flurry to end the period 2-1.
The third period was physical back and forth dog fight
with John Elworthy and Jake Bean playing tough out front
keeping Team Dynamic to shots Deegan was able to get
to and hold on for the win. Final score was 2-1.

97 RANGERS
TAKE 7-2 WIN |
| 1
| 9 | 10 |
The Rangers got off to a sluggish start
Saturday but finished strong against Team Dynamic at
the 'rink on the beach' Saturday afternoon. Jeff Powers
continues his scoring ways with two first period goals
to keep pace with Team Dynamic ending the first period
tied 2-2. The second period belonged to the Rangers
- there was a 10 minute stretch that was as dominant
as the Rangers have played all year, that is the way
this team is capable of playing and needs to play down
the stretch and into the playoffs. Gunnar McKenzie,
Declan Leahy, Curtis Golden and Jack Donato were key
players in a ferocious fore check that hardly saw the
puck leave the Dynamic zone in the second period, with
Cullen Lyne and Robbie Mckenney chipping in with goals.
The third period was more than a little chippy and Erik
MacDonald and Joe Monet were a physical presence clearing
the front of the net allowing Cam Deegen half a game
of shutout hockey. Final Score was 7-2

97 RANGERS
DROP TOUGH ONE TO TERRIERS |
| 12
| 21 | 09 |
The Rangers braved the blizzard to travel
to the Canton Sportplex Sunday night to take on the
Terriers.
After the long ride it took the Rangers half the first
period to wake up spotting the Terriers a 2-0 lead which
would come back to haunt us. Coach Bradley led a spirited
talk between periods and the Rangers came roaring back
from a 4-1 when Jeff Powers and Gunnar McKenzie started
pouring on the offense. Powers first goal came when
his physical forecheck forced the Terriers defense to
cough it up at the side of the net, in one motion Jeff
picked up the puck wrapped it around on net and was
on his way to a hat trick for the day.
The physical play picked up after a Terriers player
was tossed for a hit from behind putting Avery at South
Shore Hospital with a mild concussion(get well soon
Avery!!!) Gunnar McKenzie made the Terriers pay on the
major factoring in two goals putting the Rangers right
back in the game. As the second period came to a close
a beautiful setup from Kyle Marshall and Jack Donato
on Powers third goal of the game cutting the lead to
one going into the third period 5-4. The Rangers comeback
effort was capped off when McKenzie found Golden in
the slot to tie the game 5-5 half way through the third.
A back and forth third period continued with physical
play, as the terriers tried to split the defense Jake
Bean and Joe Monet converged to send him spinning in
the air crashing to the ice highlighting a strong Defensive
effort from Bean and Monet. With less than two minutes
left the Terriers went ahead to stay on a good individual
effort from the Terriers forward - he went through 3
tired Ranger players to put it away as the Rangers fell
7-5

97'S TAKE
THREE OUT OF FOUR POINTS ON THE WEEKEND |
| 12
| 16 | 09 |
12/13 vs Breakers
After Saturdays heart breaking tie Coach Bradley had
the Rangers come out breathing fire Sunday in the old
Rockland rink jumping out to 5-0 lead. Relentless fore
checking by Declan Leahy set up a pair of goals by Gunnar
McKenzie. The puck movement after building a big lead
was outstanding - especially Curtis Golden who ended
the day with three assists. The Jack Donato - Avery
Devlin combination picked up right where they left of
Saturday accounting for 6 pointes between them. Eric
MacDonald chipped in with a score from the blue line
capping off a strong defensive performance by Eric MacDonald
and Michael Saleski. Final score was 8-4
12/12 vs Team Dynamic
Team Dynamic brought the biggest team we have seen all
year into Bavis on Saturday and jumped out to a quick
2-0 lead on strong physical play. The Rangers came storming
back to tie the game 3-3 in the middle of the third
period as the line of Jack Donato – Avery Devlin
and Cullen Lyne factored in all three goals with an
excellent display of cycling the puck down low keeping
relentless pressure on the Dynamic defense.
With less than a minute to play Robbie McKenney made
a tremendous rush sliding the puck through the goal
mouth to a wide open Jeff Powers giving the Rangers
the 4-3 lead. Topping off a strong defensive performance
from Robbie Mckenney and John Elworthy. Team Dynamic
did not give up - pulling their goalie and scoring with
3.8 seconds left - crashing the net hard after a face
off that the Little Rangers would certainly like to
have back…..Final Score was 4-4
